I "HAD" a ticket for my spouse and I to Mexico and while I was still wanting to go my spouse said - NO! So upon calling AS I found this out which I am surprised about.

As I read the Mexico waiver I thought this - if I am not going to use my ticket then fees are waived but I could book any other city. OK Fine - BUT when I made my inquiry to cancel Mexico and book another city to my surprise I was told this - we will INFLATE the fare of your new city to match the price of what you paid for Mexico - WHAT!!!!????????? So Let's say I go to Miami and the tickets don't cost what I paid to Mexico I get NO refund of the difference but they will in essence charge me more than the going rate to Miami??? What kinda scheme is this? Certainly if I could rebook to Mexico I would however my one week time share won't be available till later this year and guess what - AS is cutting back schedules so bad I can't get there to match the dates of when the time share is open.

I thought at least AS would refund the difference - NO
I'm glad they offered no penalty fees and have an $880 credit on file for me good for one year however not to issue a refund seems crazy.
