You can use CO miles to upgrade on NWA M, B or Y. Call CO and tell them you have a nwa ticket, give them the locater code, and say you want a series 4 upgrade. M and B are 25K one way, Y 12.5. I have done this many times. It takes them a while on the phone like 30-45 minutes to confirm, but it works.

This, of course, presupposses that there are upgrade seats available in the bucket that NWA pulls them from. This is far, far from certain.
