I remember flights as a kid on the 707 (and the related 720), but don't recall if I was ever on a DC8. All of the early 4 engine jets (707/720/DC8/Comet/Convair 880/990) seemed to die a pretty quick death in the pax market when the 727/737/DC9 came along.
