We got this message from our travel focal point this morning (I am a Federal employee):

**************************

FYI -This "Important Travel Update" is found on the login page of (our travel arrangement program - name ommitted).

"Important Travel Update

"In conjunction with the Secure Flight initiative, TSA is requiring travelers to have their middle initials printed on their boarding passes. When making reservations in (our travel arrangement program), ensure that your middle initial is stored in your profile prior to booking air reservations.

"Effective immediately, you will now need to show a piece of Gov't issued ID that has your full name (including middle name or initial), birthdate and gender on it. Some airlines may begin to ask for this information beginning as early as May 15, 2009 and we need you to be aware of this to allow some extra time for the check in process.

"Full implementation of this process is set for 8/15/2009, but if you experience any problems getting through your check in due to this process, please let me know so that I can notify GSA.

"Look for more information on this topic in a broadcast message from DOT."

I also went to the "My Account" section on alaskaair.com to make sure my middle initial was showing there. It was. I would presume that when we print out BP's via the web or at the kiosk, that our middle initials will show up if they are in our My Account data........Missy, can you verify?
