Well, my rather pointy kilt pin got through without any issues at EDI last week.

My blunt, plastic, non-blade containing, false sgian dubh on the other hand was entirely another matter. Whilst it has transitted its way through LHR, LCY, LGW, GLA, JFK and EDI many many times before in hand baggage without let or hindrance, the security goon at EDI decided on Sunday that it presented a risk to the BA flight to LGW as a "replica weapon".

The irony that a fake item of Scottish national dress would be confiscated at Scotland's capital airport whilst having never caused problems to anyone before seemed to escape said goon. Not amused!
