Infrequent PC member here. Made an internet booking a week in advance and just checked into the HIX Taichung Park in Taiwan. The front desk asked for my credit card and swiped it, had me sign for one night's amount. I asked if I had already been charged for one night's stay (which I remember happens through out the HI system) and the front desk person said the internet reservation is only a guarantee. Checked my credit card statement online and nothing from HIX has showed up. Have I been double charged already or is the front desk person right?

(Also, first time staying in a HIX out of the United States, maybe it is different at international locations?)
