I'll assure you I'll quadruple check everything now. I usually do it myself to make SURE it's correct but because I needed an agent to find flights for both tickets, I had to call. I sure as hell will not rely on them anymore.
I am sorry about what happened to you. Basically I don't trust the airlines to do anything right anymore, because I've had them mess up my reservations too many times. They've ruined my seat assignments (separating me from family), changed my flights, etc several times without ever telling me. So I have to double-check everything and watch my reservations like a hawk to make sure they don't mess things up again.
That said, ever since I switched to JAL, this kind of problem happens to me far less often. I suspect the non-US carriers are more competent and reliable about this kind of thing.
