Don't be hard on yourself. I think that everyone on this board, at some point, has misunderstood or misinterpreted some BA fine print, and has felt that they had been somehow abused. Rest assurred that there's as much liklihood that the fine print in your case was not available on the website (and was never emailed to you) as that you overlooked it. A game that transforms a refundable business transaction into a non-refundable business transaction after you've handed over more money is a "gotcha" environment --- and most participants and lurkers on this board spend a disproportionate amount of their time planning their revenge against the company (BA) that they feel abused them.
