I don't see any load problems JFK<->HKG. I've tried over the past few days to move my flight by a day or two, nothing available in F. And, FWIW, I'm on 830 (boarding in 50 minutes), -- EF seat map shows 2 open seats in F and 4 in business. Period. They've got to be making money on this route.
Loads are only one part of the equation - yields and costs matter too. NYC-HKG is likely the most expensive flight to operate in the CX network on account of the increased costs of ultra-long-haul flying.
