And this, my friends, is why I should not post while watching TV. When I asked about "Miyajima," I meant "Himeji."
Jpatokal nailed what I wanted to know: is Himeji a one-sight town, or is it worth staying a night there?
We'll be coming from two nights in a Miyajima onsen, ending up in Tokyo two nights later, and I was wondering where to stay in between. I thought the Himeji-area onsen would be more cost than worth, especially once cabfare is factored in.
Do the other Himeji sites justify a night's stay, or should we push to Kyoto?
If we push on to Kyoto, what hotel would you reccommend for one night? We have a reservation at the ANA by the castle. I'd be willing to cancel it if there were a must-go hotel for a moderately reasonable price (¥25000 or less).
Thanks for the answers so far. I'll try to be more attentive when I post.
