The Palm in Chicago

I had a really nice meal the weekend before last (5/3) at The Palm in Chicago. I felt like a good steak (I was solo dining in Chicago) so I did a little research online about any steakhouses that were doing any web "specials", as I know most chains have one going on (Morton's, Ruth's Chris & Flemings all have something I was aware of).

Sure enough I found The Palm website and they have a current "Biggest and Best Filet" meal deal going on for $39.00/person. It includes soup or salad first course choices, a choice of two different filet or a fish main course, and a side dish. I liked the fact that it did not included dessert, as I'm not big on desserts and wanted to avoid one anyway.

There is an online coupon to print out, but it is not needed at the restaurant; just ask about the special and they'll give it to you (as is the case with most of these specials: they aren't on the menu, but mention them and they're yours).

What was nice was that I found out that there is an additional option not mentioned on the website: for and additional $10 you can have the 12 oz. New York Strip instead of the filet.

I went for the Caesar Salad (very good!), New York Strip (M/R) with a side of peppercorn sauce (included), and a side of green beans (sauteed w/garlic). I also added an iced tea. Overall, everything was excellent! Good service as well.

With the menu price of the 12 oz. New York at over $40, I thought it was a pretty good deal. My total bill (with a 20%+ tip) was just under $70/AI.
