I don't challenge the article, but I do wonder if the fast should be applied on the US->UK leg as "Sunday lunch then nothing till breakfast at 7am local".

The article states
the "feeding clock" could supersede the circadian master clock, keeping the mice awake until they had the opportunity to eat.
So you'll be kept awake all night by your feeding clock, then you'll eat breakfast and your feeding clock will be silenced....allowing your circadian clock to hit snooze thinking it's still in US.

Maybe you need to eat dinner, sleep on plane (as best you can according to class and personal ability) skip breakfast and lunch, forcing your feeding clock to stay awake on UK-arrival-day until dinner+bed time?
