Actually, I am guilty of being this sad. I have some addiction to AE and MR for some reason. I have another charge card with better concierge and fixed $30k/month limit (extended if needed on case by case basis) but no hotel loyalty cards or decent MR equivalent. No questions asked during use - normally they question a strange charge after the fact!
But then yet another AE blow today. Thought the letter to AE I mentioned previously had solved all issues as the next weeks I had no questions asked, but no. Card declined again today (TA flight booking) even though total outstanding (not even last statement) less than last few months statements. Had to pay down to get it open again. Pain in the A. Even the CS said he understood my concern - I told him to spread the word that I wasn't the only person getting annoyed. It so "computa sayz nooo" (for those who've seen Little Britain).
