Hmmm... I'm inclined to think that if all Amex cardholders that are offended by Amex's practices called in on the same day, I suspect the net result is that most everyone will simply be on hold!

I think option "b" is probably a legitimate one though. At this point nobody following the Amex forum should be surprised by what is going on (angry perhaps, but not surprised; there is a difference).

Nobody who now has this information should be operating without a backup plan, seriously. There are other cards and options on the market. I'm still carrying an Amex Plat, but I'm also conducting my affairs under the assumption that they may screw with me at anytime. The moment they do, I'll simply transfer all remaining MR points out, close the card, and move on.
