I think the suggestion, above, for a mass AMEX cancellation day is a GREAT IDEA. The day should be far enough in advance so that card cancellers can be recruited and pre-day publicity organized. And picking a day that has historial significance (the day the first AMEX card was issued, for example. Or the day that Congress passes the Credit Card Bill of Rights might be another), would help.
