Well, that's what I requested and was told I had "yesterday." However, I just called again this morning, and was told that I was NOT on standby. So, I asked if I could be placed on standby and was told I could not. I have no idea what the agent I spoke to yesterday did or did not do, but obviously they were not able to put me on standby, but told me they did. (he probably put in a request for a wheel chair instead) One would think this would be a simple thing. Either you can, or you can't, yet, there's an agent out there who does not seem to know their job, and I am sure he is not the only one. I sure miss the days of US based call centers.
Fortunately, the flight I want to go standby on still seems to have plenty of seats available so all should be good in the end, I hope.
Ok, that makes sense. Sounded too good to be true
