Also stated on your website under Conditions of Contract, ‘No agent, servant or representative of carrier has authority to alter, modify or waive any provision of this contract.’ I guess the rule only applies to ‘valued customers’.
I think this is where the letter writer went wrong in these few paragraphs (I apologize in advance as I don't know yet how to "multiquote" from one posting).
The sisters request for the refund of the child's ticket and mileage is definitely warranted without question, but compensation for the whole family and reinstatement of their miles seems like an excessive request. She should have been more reaonsable in her compensation request, at least IMO. Something is definitely warranted but not as much as she is asking.
Also, the part about accusing the agent of intentionally screwing with the kid's ticket should have been left out as well. "Letter writing 101" would teach you to stick to the facts and leave emotions out of it.
