SEA-YYZ-LHR for $179 is a money-loser big time. So the "competitive fare" has to be subsidized by the $1200 return fare. I have no problem paying $1200 in high season to go to Heathrow, but it would be nice to think that the fare is actually helping AC's bottom line and not being lost in some wacky strategy trying to chase American customers who have umpteen choices how to get across the pond for $99.
