I think Garuda's safety standards are "adequate". And in any case your chances of dying trying to walk across a busy street in Indonesia has to be a hundred times greater than getting killed by any of the local airlines. Even including the bad ones. I wouldn't worry about Garuda to much. I do worry about crossing the street from time to time though
