I'm dreading this flight, of course, I'm waitlisted for F, but I'm holding out little hope for that. What options, if any, are there? Could I stand-by on the red eye the night before? Is there a way to make sure I get a reasonable seat after the no-shows don't check-in. My guess is the flight will be oversold by then. What priorities for seat assignment do I have as a 1K? Anything I can do before the flight is in the hands of the GA?
Somethings aren't right here.

1. There are no BOS-SFO redeyes (redeyes operate West - East)

2. I assume the OP is really flying SFO-BOS, which has an 8:30 am departure.

3. Except on Fri and Sat, there is an earlier SFO-BOD flight.

4 Each of the 8:30 flights for the next 2 weeks DOES have available seats in Y . Sometimes, only Exit row center is available.

If it was me, I'd grab the Exit center seat and watch for better or the u/g to clear.
