I have several Hilton stays coming up in NYC next week and was checking out the web site because I have found prices often go down a few days prior. Well, for the first time since its inception, all rooms now list an energy surcharge of $3 (plus tax) below each individual room rate.

I will be bringing printouts of all of my email confirmations obtained during the last week so will still refuse to pay the surcharge when I am New York. Although I still find the imposition of the surcharge objectionable, I guess I will have no choice on subsequent trips.
