D2B, I don't really think the credit is "retroactive." I may be wrong about this, but I think the computer just counts, for purposes of the promotion, stays that are not yet credited to your HHonors account as of the date you sign up for the promotion. If THAT is what you mean by retroactive, then I guess it is. So, I hope you've got some stays "in the hopper."

By the way, I never got around to writing up a trip report, but I thoroughly enjoyed Strasbourg, the choucroute (sp?) and the Alsace wine route villages. Thanks for your recommendations. (We did get the cathedral view from the Hilton - really beautiful old church.)
