I always tell people that if you have a multi-island itinerary, do not put Kauai first. You will not want to leave when the time comes, and everything else will be a disappointment. As a matter of fact, I told this to a FlyerTalker who had just Kauai and Maui planned. He didn't listen - until he got to Kauai. Then, after a few days, he cancelled the Maui portion and stayed on Kauai!. And, he's gone back to Kauai without visiting Maui.
