After spenind a fortune on slots at LHR - I doubt that CO have any intention of flying to or from LTN of all places.

When the hurrahs went up about the move to LHR from LGW I wondered if people had sampled the charms of T4 courtesy of the BAA. Still the stampede was on and off they went. I suppose that it was due to the fact that BA/UA/AA were there and the competition stakes were skewed.

The reason that the good poster was charged £20 by a taxi driver is that from T4 - and that is the only Terminal that could even think of justifying that charge from LHR to the Bath Road is because he thought that he could get away with it. In fact I suspect that the despatcher must have been there or the Cabbie would have tried to refuse to take you. They wait hours for a fare in the expectation that they will be hailed to go to London where they can pick up a £50 ride no problem. I am not justifying I am reporting and I would report them if they attempted a stunt like that. If the despatcher knows that he will be off rank for 30 mins he can go straight back into the line rather than the vast holding pen.

Other than that - as I live within this expense zone - I can assure you that I pay no more for anything other than the fact that living in the suburbs of London is not cheap. LHR has nothing to do with it.

What is sad is other than US Airways - all the US carriers have gone from LGW.
