In the same time, I suggest you may also consider apply Priority Club credit card to get 30k points for first purchase (as a backup plan in you may use them in the future). Based on my experience back in Jan 2009 it only took 3 weeks to get my points post but it really dpend on your first statement date.

However, for pointsbreak reward, I think it's worth even just purchase points directly if you make sure the availibility is there.
