Might depend onn what you're finding as far as train fares-- on the nat'l rail site LON-GOS hits at around $50 US/33gpb.
You'd also have to factor in getting from Heathrow to Euston.
EUS to GOS involves a change, whereas MAN-GOS has direct trains, approx 3.50gbp o/w.
