I guess this question has probably been asked a number of times, but I'm flying with my friend from LHR to JFK. ( guess this is a fairly busy / popular route) We are both on the same booking, when seating is assigned, what do you think are the chances that we will actually be seating together?
Depends on a number of factors, including what cabin you are travelling in. The LHR-JFK route seems to have been very busy recently, but the chances of getting seats together if you check-in online at T-24 is excellent (particularly in economy).
And, just to clarify, you won't be "assigned" seats. Once you OLCI, you will be given two seats, which you can then change. But you haven't been 'assigned' those seats before OLCI. So, whether you get 2 seats together is likely to depend when you OLCI: the closer to T-24, the greater the number of unassigned seats and the greater chance of 2 seats together.
