Sodium lauryl sulfate is the most commonly used detergent base in shampoos, and it is also used in a wide variety of household cleaners including laundry detergents.
If you use a clear, unscented shampoo like a Neutrogena or one of the hypoallergenic brands, you should be okay. Beware using the shampoos with conditioners or added ingredients in sink laundry, because sometimes the moisturizers can stain your clothing.
