She is not my spouse. She is not even my SO. In fact, for most of the year we live in separate countries (I live in Israel and she lives in Italy).

However, if there are any problems I would prefer being with her -- even if only to translate.

I am not asking for her to go through the U.S. citizens' line as that might cause a delay (lack of finger-printing facilities or some other problem). I simply want to go through the non-citizens' line and hand my American passport to Immigration after she is finished.
