MAC Address Filtering at W New York?
I stayed at the W New York a couple of weeks ago and it seems to me that their Internet Provider(I can't remember who it was) is running MAC Address filtering on their wired connections.
I almost always travel with 2 laptops and a travel router(D-Link DWL-G730AP) but when I tried to use the router the connection wouldn't resolve any address and would not take me to the sign-up page . Plugging the ethernet cable directly into one of my laptops worked no problem.
Sadly the travel router does not allow MAC Address spoofing so I couldn't verify this. If this is the case I might have to start using a spare router I have with DD-WRT on it.
Wondering if anyone has had the same experience?
