Unhappy Qantas aircraft schedule and seating changes

I've been looking into an upcoming trip of mine and have noticed several things:

1. Using expertflyer, I see that my 744 flight to JNB in mid June shows 12 seats in F. On earlier flights, and flights to other destinations it shows the usual 14 seats. Does anyone know why this is? In a previous thread of mine I commented on a potential refit of the first cabin. I'm assuming it's wishful thinking that this has anything to do with it.

2. My flight on QF 12 from LAX to SYD has been changed from the A380 to a 744 It departs on a Sunday in mid July. I rang Qantas who said that the A380 only flies on Fridays and Wednesdays during this time. Unfortunately neither suits me so it looks like yet again I'll miss my chance to try the new bird! I have an upgrade to F requested, which I may cancel. What are the chances they will switch the aircraft back to an A380 again? Is this due to their delay of their A380 deliveries?

3. In relation to my LAX-SYD flight they have booked me in 13J. This appears to be the row in front of the exit row on the UD (row 16). Both rows 13 and 16 show as blocked on expertflyer. I know they would generally block row 16 for WP, any reason why expertflyer shows row 13 as blocked? Is it worth me asking Qantas if they can shift me to row 16?

Any thoughts appreciated.
