Ok here is what I found. She is right and I guess I will not be pluging in my own cell phone again. Per the manual "Due to incompatibility of electrical current and inconsistent availability, aircraft power sources (e.g., electrical outlet in a lavatory or galley) may not be used for any type of electronic device. Page 8-1 for anyone who wants to look it up. Who knew?
