i was looking to book a stay at my usual marriott when i came across this statement at the top of the rates:

Payments by credit card incur a 1.5 percent merchant service fee added to the amount payable. All rates include taxes.


im interested to know since when did the chain implemented this change as all my previous bookings never had this statement come up in the booking page and a search did not reveal any thread that addresses this issue. and its location specific.
