I've had CO give me vouchers, meals, etc. for irrops. Last Friday, my seat wouldn't work. It's one of 2 of my favorite BF seats 1E. The FA got it to a point where I was comfortable (it took her a few minutes) and while I couldn't operate it properly, I was still comfortable. I didn't ask, nor did I expect ANY compensation.
Regarding IFE - I always assume the worst and take my computer (which I have to take anyway), a portable DVD and video ipod along with plenty of reading material.
Regarding the lights - not a good situation, but again, why I carry an eye mask (I like mine better than Co's anyway) because sometimes a window person wants to have the window up.
A few months ago, I received a UA trip alert (okay, I know they call it something different but whatever) over 24 hours before my flight because of a mechanical and my flight would get in late. It kept delaying and my UA int'l paid F flight was 9 hours late. I didn't receive nor did I ask for compensation. I did, however, drink enough in the F lounge to make up for anything they would have given me

Oh, yeah, and the only thing that would play on my wonderful avod - Hannah Montana or that stupid joke show. Was I happy? NO! But I wouldn't have expected compensation.
I've been travelling regularly since I was young, so perhaps my expectations are lower than others. There have been times when there has been a mech delay and I've asked the BF Concierge for a meal voucher. They've been happy to do so.
I guess I've been stuck in enough Chinese airports with delays that to me, CO seems just fine.
