Hi everyone

I just happened to check expedia tonight for the heck of it. For some off reason, Air France is having a sale - non stop from IAD for 712 bucks, all in!

Well, that's a great non-stop fare and so I bought the tickets for this itinerary - fly out May 29 at 440 PM and fly home June 8. Nonstop! Plus if something happens then at least I am at IAD which has a lot of planes leaving for Europe. I was horrified to hear CLT only has 4 flights to Europe each day - wow. Boy, you miss it and you really miss it.

This means I have to cancel the USAir tix and use them another time.

This information is still very valuable to me, because I am taking my Mom to Paris in July on the exact same itinerary. The good news there is that she is driving to DC and we are flying together, so, if we get bumped, well, we are together. (of course I will have TGV tickets from CDG to Avignon that very morning which would not be good to miss...)

Again, thank you thank you thank you everyone... off to pester the AF folks because the seat assignment they offered on the 777-200 was weird - I have a confirmed seat in 3A going over and 2J coming back, which makes utterly no sense to me because not only is that way up front (for 712 bucks?), I don't even think 2J exists...
