if im willing to sit in coach on lax-iad on the later flight, would i be allowed to just miss my earlier lax-iad flight?

If the flight is F0 (not NF0), UA is not willing to sell any more full fare first class seats. That means F is really full, so your upgrade most likely won't clear. (although please let us know if it still does)
ya, its f0. ive been checking every once in a while and its been f1, c1 for about 2 weeks or so. i was pretty sure i wasn't going to get the ug, but i checked today and it says f0, so now im almost positive
