If the flight is F0 (not NF0), UA is not willing to sell any more full fare first class seats. That means F is really full, so your upgrade most likely won't clear. (although please let us know if it still does)

If you're standing by for a flight, you must first get a seat in Y before you can ask to be on the waitlist for F.
