Anybody have good tips for small local hotels that are close to city center? The conference hotel has a great rate but looks cold and impersonal, while most of the smaller places I'm seeing are outside of the city center.
The last few times in Glasgow, we have loved the Carlton George Hotel, city center, just down the street from Queen Street Rail station.
The rooms were reasonable (abt £135 a night for two, breakfast included) and included the lounge and free access to to the mini bar and the decanters of Whiskey, Sherry, and I think gin in each room.
