Since status match is "once in a lifetime", I probably would not do it at this point (although you'll get the perks - more points, breakfast, room upgrade). I would probably save it for a time when you have a "big personal" trip where you're more likely to enjoy the perks than on a business trip where you're less likely to spend a lot of time at the property (or in the room). My comments are based primarily on your statement that you are unlikely to be able to requalify for the year.
