That's correct, DL miles expire after 2 years of inactivity, so if you have the DL Amex and use it at least once every 2 years, your miles will not expire. Flexpoints, as far as I can tell, expire after 5 years no matter what. If you're paying attention, however, you can always convert them to a cash reward before that time.
