Sounds great, LarryU! And that bears out our experience, which is that suites, even if not designated n-s, still often fall into the category of "old style" room, only occasionally smoked up. It pays to check!
DOC 2 BE, I just took wharvey's comment to mean that his smoker friends go outside the hotel. We have a good friend, smoker, whose wife doesn't smoke, and when they travel together (and always ask for a n-s room) that's what he does. He does NOT stand in the corridor. By himself, he books smoking.

It's been my impression for years that hotels will "go after" someone who smokes up a n-s room, and charge them the cost of making the room n-s again, but you know, I don't have any direct knowledge of this. Does anyone?
