Have you ever had a confirmed, no smoking room only to be told at arrival that all the no smoking rooms were taken? I thought that if it said 'confirmed, no smoking', you were guaranteed a no smoking room. I was just told by a reservation agent at a Hilton that most of their rooms were no smoking and there shouldn't be a problem. However, there was a chance at check in that all the no smoking rooms would be full. I called another hotel in the area the one time that this happened at a Hilton and when I went down to check back out, they upgraded me to a king suite that was no smoking. I was just a regular member at that time.
