Previous threads have discussed how resorts in Tucson (Arizona) often do not measure up to the level of luxury found at some of their peer properties up the road in Phoenix/Scottsdale. However, just in case anyone finds themselves heading to the Sonoran Desert this summer, here are some deals featured in a recent local newspaper article:

Hilton El Conquistador Golf & Tennis Resort
Rates start at $150 and offers a $100 resort credit for every night a guest stays.

Loews Ventana Canyon Resort
Extended summer stay package that allows guests who stay Friday and Saturday nights a checkout time of 6 p.m. Sunday. Between noon and 6 p.m. on Sunday those guests get 50 percent off golf and spa treatments.

Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa
A package that starts at a rate of $109 includes a dollar-for-dollar match — the money guests spend on their room will be matched with a resort credit that can be used for golf, at the spa or for dining.

Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa
This summer, rooms will start at $119, as opposed to $139, where they've started in the past. That price will be available into early September. The Westin also has a golf package for $169, which includes a room and unlimited golf.

Westward Look Resort
The resort's "sizzling summer staycation" package starts at $89 per night and includes breakfast for two adults and two children.
