The front third of coach is economy plus. The seats have extra legroom, and in order to gain access, you need either elite status or you have to pay to play. AMEX should never have offered those seats. I've had that happen on US where other travel sites will let me choose any seat, including the ones that are "Choice," and I needed to call US separately to confirm the seats
