While Hawaii is great, i would suggest you pick two Asian cities instead. Asia is not uniform and each place is very different. If you want a warm, beach location as one stop there are a number of possibilities-- such as the Phuket area or Australia and then maybe one of the more urban cities -- HGK, NRT, ... for a completely different experience. Don't worry too much about the language issue too major -- if you have traveled to Europe or other non-english speaking locations, Asia is no more "difficult" and plenty of folks will go out of their way to help if needed.
