I think the OP clearly knows the difference between the two. I earned AA miles on an Airmiles ticket that I booked last fall. Airmiles refused to enter my AA number on the reservation, so I just went online and added it myself! Got 500 status miles each way for YYZ-JFK.

SH, I believe you recently did the same. Did you get your AA miles?
