Ha.....

People often ask me if I'm afraid to fly....especially after 9/11. I'm truly more nervous getting in my car driving to and from the airport and worried about some stinkin' drunk driver whacking me dead, than I am when I'm flying.

Every single day in this country we successfully send 30,000 planes up and back. On the absolute worst day in our history, we lost four.....the other 29,996 made it back safely that horrible day. Even if you told me we'd lose one tomorrow, I'd still feel relatively comfortable with the odds of me being on one of the other 29,999. Multiply that number by the fact that we really only lose one every few years, and the odds are ridiculously low.

Every single day in Omaha I open the paper and read about the three or four people who didn't make it home on the roads last night. Hundreds nationwide every day, every week, every month, year after year. And yet we fret about getting on an airplane.....some of us paralyzed by the very thought.
