I was Silver in 2000. Had almost a perfect score with free upgrades/breakfasts for all my stays. Las Vegas' Hilton Paris was the only excepton. I had to slip $20 to the check-in clerk to get my room upgraded ( but what do you expect from Las Vegas anyway? ) Ironically, in all cases, with the exception of Las Vegas, the rates that I paid were dirt cheap: priceline, weekend, or conference rate. Las Vegas on the other hand... I am embarassed to say what I paid for the room. Sufficient to say, I am not proud of it.
Here is the breakdown:
Pittsburgh Hilton - concierge floor w/cont breakfast
Minneapolis airport - concierge floor w/cont.breakfast
Heathrow airport - concierge/excecutive floor. Full breakfast included in the rate
CDG( Paris ) airport, two stays - concierge floor, breakfast included in the rate
Tampa airport - concierge? floor. Left too early in the morning to figure out if there was any breakfast or lounge available
In all, I am very pleased with Hilton in 2000. And since I am Gold in 2001, I hope my luck would continue.
