Depends on the point of view. "Third world" can mean the blatant injustice and huge gap between a small very very rich "elite" and a huge majority of very poor. It can also mean omnipresent corruption, censorhip and lack of freedom of speech.

Your statement regarding "middle income country" could be correct for certain more visible parts of Bangkok and even there.... May I recommend the Thailand forum to remain on topic QF here ?
