Mmm, not sure I agree with this. My understanding of the OP's intention is to be a 'reliable witness' in case the other passenger makes a complaint. It is not to go out of one's way to harangue the other (albeit rude) passenger.
The approach quoted above comes across as very much a busy-body. Unless the other passenger was truly bringing a company to disrepute -- e.g. clearly engaging in industrial espionage, bad-mouthing their company in a blatant and awful way, I'm not sure I would write to their employer...(and prob not even then)...is it really my business?
Do we really want to be constantly watching over our shoulders for informants a la Communist E. Germany?
